There are some things required for a notary:

For notarization, each signer must show a valid “non-expired” photo ID. Each ID must contain a photo, physical description, signature, and serial number. California recognizes the following types of identification if it has been issued within the last 5 years:

  • Driver License

  • State Issued ID Card (Senior ID, Under 18 ID, CA ID)
  • U.S. Passport

  • U.S. Military ID Card

  • Mexican or Canadian Driver License issued by an authorized agency

  • Foreign Passport if stamped by the Immigration and Naturalization Service

Documents

Submit documents, statements, forms, letters, affidavits, attorneys general, advanced healthcare directives, etc. Fill in all the blanks but don’t sign or date them. The documentation portion will be completed and submitted if required at the time of documentation. A notary is unable to draft, alter or provide legal advice in relation to your document. If you have questions, please work with the company or agency that drafted your document or that you will receive once you have completed it.

Willingness and knowledge:

The first rule of any technology used in a business is that automation applied to an efficient operation will magnify the efficiency. The second is that automation applied to an inefficient operation will magnify the inefficiency.

Ability to Communicate:

All signatories must be able to communicate in English. If the site does not speak English, please call to discuss. Documents can be in any language. However, the documentation portion must be in English and will be provided as needed.
